Jill Greising-Murschel

Looking for fun things to do in Eagle Idaho? Then you’ve come the right spot. As a travel blogger and local mom, I love finding and sharing about unique and comment things to do in an area. And Eagle Idaho is one of my favorite cities near Boise to spend a day in.

Eagle, Idaho, one of the popular Boise suburbs, is one of those charming cities that feels just far enough from the hustle of Boise, but still easy to get to. It’s located just west of Boise next to the foothills, and is one of the top luxury real estate markets in Idaho and really in the the west.

Whether you’re a local looking for something new to do or you’re visiting, Eagle has some great things to do. Let’s dive into some favorites that’ll keep you busy and enjoying this amazing Idaho city.

1. Hit the Trails in the Eagle Foothills

If you’re into hiking, or even just love getting some fresh air, the Eagle Foothills have some really scenic trails. Options like Twisted Sister, Rabbit Run, and Veterans Loop are great whether you’re out for a brisk walk or a full-on adventure.

The views of the valley are gorgeous, especially at sunrise or sunset. And honestly? It’s a great way to clear your head and get a little exercise without having to drive far.

2. Ride at Eagle Bike Park

This place is a total hit with mountain bikers, families, and anyone who likes a little adrenaline. There’s a well-designed pump track that even younger kids can enjoy, and a variety of trails for different skill levels. It’s one of those places where you can spend an hour or an entire afternoon, and there’s always someone out there having a blast. Pack some snacks and make it a mini adventure.

3. Wander the Eagle Saturday Market

Eagle Farmers Market_

If you’re around on a Saturday between May and October, don’t miss the Eagle Saturday Market. It’s right downtown and full of local charm. Think fresh produce, baked goods, handmade crafts, and often some live music floating through the air.

It’s the kind of spot where you grab a latte from a local vendor, pick up a little something for dinner, and maybe even run into a neighbor or two. Super chill and always worth a visit.

If you love visiting farmers’ markets, I wrote as post sharing about the most popular Boise Farmers Markets you can check out. Eagle’s Saturday market is on the list!

4. Spend the Day at Eagle Island State Park

Eagle Island State Park is such a fun place to spend the day, especially if you’re visiting with kids. There’s a little beach area where the kids can splash, a playground, disc golf, a playground, and picnic shelters. Bring your own paddle board in the summer, or plan to go snow tubing in the winter, thanks to Gateway Parks. It’s basically your year-round outdoor playground. You can bring a picnic, hang out by the water, and let everyone unwind a bit.

5. Bring the Kids to Reid Merrill Park

Reid Merrill Park in Eagle, Idaho

If your kids need to burn off some energy, Reid Merrill is the place to go. It’s got a big playground, a splash pad for hot summer days, and lots of shady spots where you can sit back and relax. You’re right next to the Boise river too, so it’s easy to sneak in a walk along the Greenbelt or just enjoy the peaceful vibe while the kids play. It’s clean, safe, and well-loved by local families.

6. Let Loose at Guerber Park

Guerber Park is another great family-friendly spot in Eagle. The playground is modern and fun for all ages, and the splash pad is a total hit when the weather warms up.

There are tons of open green space to run, play catch, or just lounge on a blanket. The park also has several shaded picnic areas. It’s perfect for birthday parties, meetups, or casual lunches, and you can even rent the shelters if you’re planning a bigger get-together.

7. Walk (or Bike) the Greenbelt

Biking on the Greenbelt in Eagle, Idaho

One of the things to do in Eagle that I always suggest to anyone asking, is to enjoy the paved path along the Boise River called the Greenbelt. The river runs right through the city, and it’s honestly one of the best parts of living in Eagle, Idaho.

Whether you’re biking, walking your dog, pushing a stroller, or just out for a peaceful solo stroll, the path is lined with trees, runs along the river, and always feels like a mini escape from the daily grind. You can start in Eagle and go for miles if you’re up for it, or just enjoy a short stretch and take in the scenery.

8. Catch a Concert or Event at BanBury Golf Course

Enjoy a game of golf at BanBury Golf Course in Eagle. Then, learn about local events and live music coming up. They hosted live music nights to food truck gatherings and holiday events, so it’s worth checking out. It’s a great excuse to get out of the house, enjoy some food and tunes, and catch up with friends or neighbors.

9. Sip Tea at Château des Fleurs

Want to do something a little extra special? Head to Château des Fleurs for afternoon tea. It’s like stepping into a European garden party. The tea service is beautifully done with fancy teapots, tiered trays of goodies, and a whole lot of charm. It’s a great place for a girls’ day out, a birthday celebration, or just something different and fun. Trust me, even if you’re not a big “tea person,” the whole experience is worth it.

10. Grab a Bite at Rembrandts or Another Local Favorite Eagle Restaurant

One of the the things to do in Eagle ID is grab a bite to eat at one of the locally owned restaurants.

Eagle has some seriously good eats, and one of the coziest spots in town is Rembrandts. It’s a charming coffee house set inside an old church, and it’s the kind of place where you can sip a latte on the patio or tuck into a delicious brunch with friends. The atmosphere is super welcoming with warm lighting, great food, and friendly staff.

Whether you’re in the mood for a quick coffee or a full meal, this spot is a winner. And if you’re looking for something different check out Crave Kitchen & Bar, Oak Barrel, or Pig Latin, all local favorites with their own vibe.
